Friendship Smile is a Houston based charity dedicated to fostering positive environments and opportunities for the social development of children born with cleft lip and palate.
Our Mission
Our mission is help kids with clefts develop the social and communication skills that they need to be successful. There are a multitude of organizations and support resources for kids and their families dedicated to the early life challenges that clefts present. There is a support gap as these kids get older, become young adults, and enter adolescence. Friendship Smile is dedicated to closing that support gap in the Houston community.
Our plans for Friendship Smile
Friendship Smile was founded in 2018 and 2019 will be the first year that we deliver a program to our cleft kids. We’re starting small, but with the support of our donors and the community we have plans to grow. Our plans include:
Expanding our partnership with Camp for All to provide more opportunities for more children to attend
Building a repository of knowledge and support resources to help parents navigate the options for addressing psychological and speech development issues
Establishing a platform for our older cleft kids to mentor, coach, and guide our younger cleft kids
